I was looking to buy a refrigerator as my old one (godrej pentacool) was not working well. I browsed through few websites and also some retail outlets. In my study, I came to know that the price of Videocon & godrej were cheaper than LG, Whirpool and other foreign brands.
My dad arranged a specialist in refrigerator to see what was wrong with my refrigerator. He told that there is a linkage and will repair my refrigerator in 2200. After some negotiation, he was ready to repair my refrigerator in Rs. 1500.
i wanted one more refrigerator for my new house. I questioned him which refrigerator is better? He didn't say any particular brand name but told me to avoid Godrej & Videocon. I was surprised as both were Indian company which had very good brand name in the market for electronic. On further questioning, he told me that they use aluminum and not copper for there products and that alumium is not a good choice for long term. Copper has become expensive in recent time so companies have started changing their raw material.
Secondly, some companies also import refrigerator from China and so they can supply it in cheap rates.
Thirdly, see to it that the glass used in the refrigerator is toughened, glass which doesn't break easily.
Final Conclusion: Buy Indian product not from Indian companies
